Procedures
In both procedures, a special handpiece is used to target the area being treated. The length of treatment depends on the procedure, with a thorough Ultherapy® treatment taking about 90 minutes and Velashape™ procedures running shorter. Because both treatments are based on collagen production, you will see only modest results, if any, right after the procedure. Gradually, over the course of several months, you will notice the skin-tightening and contour improving. If you choose Velashape™, you will need at least 3 treatments before seeing satisfactory results.
Recovery
Both non-invasive procedures, Ultherapy® and Velashape™ are very safe, and produce few side effects that would make a recovery period necessary. Some redness and swelling may occur for a short time following the procedures, but patients can be back to their normal activities almost right away.

Do Ultherapy® and Velashape™ require any downtime?
Because the treatments are gentle and non-invasive, most patients can be back to normal activities within a day.
Do the treatments hurt?
These gentle treatments are generally tolerated very well. Discomfort during and after the procedures should be minimal.
How many treatments will I need?
For Ultherapy®, good results can be achieved with just one treatment. Results appear gradually for several months, and patients should see improvement up to six months after treatment. Velashape™ typically requires 3 treatments.
How long do the results last?
With variations in rates of aging, it is hard to predict how long results will last for each patient. However, Ultherapy® continues to work for at least 6 months, and Velashape™ should have results with a similar longevity once the treatment series is complete. At a certain point, the body will stop increased collagen production and go back to normal.
