The sun can do a lot of nasty things to your skin. The Product
Osmosis Skincare’s new product, “UV Neutralizer Harmonized Water” is a purified water solution said to be formulated with “vibrational waves” that protect skin from UV rays–from the inside out. The water comes in two formulas: Tan-Enhancing, and No Tan-Enhancing (a split that causes concern immediately, as tanning is harmful to the skin). To use the product, 2 ml of solution is put into 2 ounces of water, then consumed. The UV-neutralizing effects are supposed to last about three hours, depending on body weight.
Does It Work?
Experts are highly skeptical of the solution–and justifiably so. The company has not had the product evaluated by the FDA and features no active ingredients on the bottle label. While the developer claims that the solution tests at about 30 SPF, dermatologists are unconvinced. If research backs up the claims in the future, the product may be worth considering, but most experts do not believe that it is possible a drinkable sunscreen could produce such dramatic protection from UV rays.

The best way to prevent accelerated aging from the sun, of course, is to protect yourself from UV rays.
