The treatment destroys fat cells in a quick, easy, and non-invasive procedure using a focused, pulsed soundwave. Your UltraShape Power® Consultation
Before you make your Ultrashape Power® appointment, you will need to schedule a consultation to discuss your goals for the procedure and ensure you are a good candidate for Ultrashape Power®. We will go over the details of the procedure with you and assess whether or not the treatment will help you reach your goals, as well as exhibit some of our amazing photos showing the success of some of our patients with this treatment. The consultation is an excellent opportunity to get to know Dr. Walder and her associates. Feel free to ask any questions you have about the treatment, and learn more about our practice.
The Ultrashape Power® Procedure
First, the fat is isolated using elastic straps or tape, then the treatment area is 3-D mapped with an imaging system. Ultrasound gel is then applied to the treatment area and the Ultrashape Power® hand piece is moved over the area with a series of repetitive pulses that are delivered in a gentle, warm, even relaxing way. Using the 3-D map, the device locates unwanted fat cells and targets them with ultrasonic energy. As the energy moves through the fat cells, they implode and die. Over the weeks following treatment, the body will gradually eliminate the destroyed fat cells, contouring and reducing the overall fat in the treated area. Because the process is gradual, the skin has an opportunity to retract gradually, as it would during normal weight loss. Each Ultrashape Power® session lasts about 30 minutes per area to be treated.
Tracking Your Progress
Diane Walder and associates is equipped with a state of the art photography studio which we utilize to document your progress with all of our treatments. Photographs will be taken before your first Ultrashape Power® treatment and at the start of each treatment so that we can track your results. These photos will only be seen by you and will not be shown to anyone without your permission. Measurements will also be taken at the start of each treatment so that we can record your results in inches as well. Following the complete series of treatments, we will have you come back for a final evaluation about one month after the third treatment. At this time we will take final photos and measurements.
Recovery & Downtime
Because Ultrashape Power® is a non-invasive procedure, there is no real recovery time associated with the treatments. There are no activity restrictions once the treatment is complete, and patients can typically get back to normal activities right away. In fact, exercise is recommended after the treatment, as it boosts the metabolism. It is also recommended that you drink at least 64 ounces of water daily throughout the treatment time to assist in flushing out the unwanted destroyed fat cells. Maintaining a diet low in fat is also a great way to make the most of the procedure and enhance your results.

What are the most common treatment areas?
Pockets of fat can occur in many different areas of the body, but there are some common treatment areas that patients request for treatment. As long as there is enough fat in the area, allowing at least about an inch of fat to be pinched, any area can be safely and effectively treated. The common areas include the stomach, hips, love handles, thighs, bra line, arms and knee fat pads.
Is Ultrashape Power® really painless?
Most patients find the treatment to be quite comfortable. The pulses feel warm with a slight tingling sensation. Many patients actually find the treatment relaxing enough to fall asleep, or enjoy using the opportunity to discuss other cosmetic treatments they may benefit from in our office.
What are the potential Ultrashape Power® side effects?
Ultrashape Power® is one of the safest fat reduction techniques available today. The treatment is designed to send a soundwave directly into the fat cell without any effect on the surrounding tissue, nerves, blood vessels, or skin. In addition, the process by which the body eliminates the fat after the treatment is exactly the way the body processes fat consumed in food.
